Hall celebrates 10th Anniversary

Hall introduces new name and logo as part of 10th Anniversary

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – In September 2008, Robert Kraft and his family were joined by members of the Patriots Hall of Fame and leaders from Raytheon for a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the grand opening of the team’s hall of fame, a two-story, 20,000-square foot shrine built to honor the greatest players and preserve the most memorable moments in franchise history. To celebrate the 10th anniversary, the team has unveiled a new logo and modified name. It will now be called the Patriots Hall of Fame presented by Raytheon.

Next week, the Patriots will welcome home a dozen Patriots Hall of Famers for this year’s induction ceremony honoring Matt Light, who will be the franchise’s 25th player enshrined into the team’s hall of fame. It will also be the 10th time a public ceremony has been held just outside of the Patriots Hall of Fame on the NRG Plaza. This year’s ceremony will take place Saturday, Sept. 29 at 4:00 p.m. It is free and open to the public. All Patriots fans are welcome and encouraged to attend.

“When we committed to building the franchise’s first hall of fame, our primary goal was to preserve the history of the franchise and the legacies of all our players who have contributed to the countless memories Patriots fans have enjoyed since the team’s inception in 1960,” said Patriots Chairman and CEO Robert Kraft. “By partnering with Raytheon, we also created an educational curriculum featuring science, technology, engineering and mathematics that has made the Patriots Hall of Fame one of the favorite destinations for classroom field trips throughout New England. It is also among the most popular destinations at Patriot Place, having entertained more than a million visitors since we opened.”

Raytheon proudly partnered with the Patriots in 2008 and recently extended its partnership.

“Raytheon’s partnership with the New England Patriots has fueled kids and adults to think about math and science differently by connecting it to the thrill of a sport they love,” said Pam Erickson, Raytheon’s Vice President of Global Branding and Corporate Citizenship. “By engaging them in topics like ball trajectory, velocity of impact and median number of points scored we are able to drive home the message that technology, engineering and math are cool — and fascinating careers await them.”

The new Patriots Hall of Fame logo features both the current Patriots logo and the original Pat Patriot logo. The new logo also features the four LED video board pylons that are used inside the hall of fame to display the images of its honorees.

“We honor our hall of famers in a unique, larger-than-life way, using 30-foot-high interactive LED boards to display our greatest players,” said Bryan Morry, the executive director of the Patriots Hall of Fame presented by Raytheon. “We made sure to keep the four pylons as part of the new logo.”

Signage changes are underway and are expected to conclude with the exterior signage installation this month. The new logo will be featured on the red hall of fame jackets presented to each of the Patriots Hall of Fame players.
