Bruschi’s Snow Day by Phil Cooper

It was one of those great snow games in Foxborough. Almost a blizzard. It was December 7, 2003 and the Patriots were playing Miami at Gillette Stadium. It was a low-scoring game and then Tedy Bruschi intercepted Dolphins quarterback Jay Fiedler for a pick-six! He charged into the end zone and slid in the snow on his knees. A singular moment that is etched in my memory. All the fans started throwing snow into the air in celebration. It was surreal. The Patriots won the game, 12-0. I was with my teenage daughter, Alissa. Now, she’s a doctor at Brigham & Women’s Hospital. Oh, and 7½ months pregnant with twins. Time flies, but we have great Patriots memories to look back on and smile.
