New Kid by Desiree Alves

My favorite Patriots memory had to be when I was about 5 years old. It’s one of my earliest memories (editor’s note: it was September 23, 2001 against the Jets). I just remember my dad asking me if I knew who the guy was on the TV. I had no idea, but I remember him saying, “That’s Drew Bledsoe!” That same game, Drew got hurt and the new quarterback stepped in. I vividly remember my Dad saying “Oh man, that’s the new kid Tom Brady.” He didn’t sound too convinced that the new QB would be very good. Twenty years and six rings later, I’m glad I was there for the whole ride.
