Back on July 28th, 1978, I had a birthday sleepover with a few members of my Pawtucket Boy’s Club baseball team. We woke up early, and my dad made us breakfast and took us all to Bryant College to watch Patriots Training Camp. When practice was over, John Hannah gave me his autograph. He signed a pennant that my son has now. He is still my all-time favorite Patriot. Fast forward to 1991 when I took a job with a minor league baseball team in Canton, Ohio, and John Hannah was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. A co-worker was Hannah’s designated driver for the week. He set up a private one-on-one quick visit in the parking lot of the Park Hotel and I officially met John Hannah. He took a picture with me and then we had a conversation about the 1985 Patriots and it brought him to tears. A true role model! They don’t make them like that anymore..
