Defrosting by John Livingston

December 22, 1985. I attended final regular season game against Bengals when the Patriots clinched a playoff berth. I was with my buddy Brian, and it was coldest I’d ever been at a game. Beer that spilled on my jacket froze. After the win, we were sitting in my Jeep waiting to leave the parking lot (surprise!) and defrosting, when a group of guys walked by us with one of the uprights from the toppled goal posts. I learned the next morning that they hit a wire and guys were electrocuted and injured. The next three games were some of the most compelling and fun game I watched the Pats play until that kid from Michigan came along. I forget what happened in the fourth playoff game that year.
