The New England Patriots will kick off their 60th season on September 8, 2019 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. To commemorate 60 amazing years of Patriots football, The Hall has put together a timeline of jerseys and historical moments that represent the franchise throughout its history. The Hall has displayed every different jersey in its collection — 31 in all — to cover Patriots history.
On November 16, 1959, the American Football League awarded William H. Sullivan Jr. the league’s eighth and final franchise, signifying the birth of a new professional football team in the region. The following year, on August 14, 1960, the Boston Patriots played their first home preseason game against the Dallas Texans. Part of the exhibit will look back at the Patriots first season in 1960 and some of the historical moments through the team’s first 59 years.
Visit the Hall and see the evolution of Patriots jerseys during this iconic Celebrate 60 season.
