The Patriots Hall of Fame Black History Month Writing Contest is now open for participation. This year’s essay focuses on the impact that local organizations and initiatives have had on the fight to end systemic racism.
In June 2020, the Kraft family announced the creation of the Kraft Family/Patriots Player Collaborative Fund, which distributes $100,000 per month for 10 months to local organizations fighting for equity, working to end systemic racism and creating meaningful change in the community. The recipients are chosen by the Kraft family in collaboration with Patriots players.
Similarly, beginning in 2018, Patriots players formed the New England Patriots Players Social Justice Fund which is renewed and funded annually by players, with The Kraft Family contributing $250,000 annually. Since the fund was formed, more than $900,000 has been donated to local organizations, initiatives, and members of our community.
Choose an organization selected by the Kraft Family/Patriots Player Collaborative Fund, the New England Patriots Player Social Justice Fund, or one of the initiatives acted upon for the year 2020 and discuss how the organization or initiative fit the criteria listed above and why you think their work is important or impactful for the community. Organizations and Initiatives can be found below or HERE.
